MDB-875 Module on Cut-to-Length Drives Problem: In the manufacture of plastic molding strips like those used to keep refrigerator doors shut a large number of feeder conveyors are used for precision-cut lengths of the strips. This customer was plagued by inaccurate cutoff lengths due to changes in line voltage and operating coil temperatures of the electric clutch/brake units in use at the time. Solution: Converting to Horton Model MDB-875 clutch/brake module immediately solved the problem. Near-perfect repeatability of the modules ensures that strips consistently remain within allowable tolerances. The customer subsequently converted all of the feeder conveyors in the plant over to Horton units. |
